Ganesh Chaturthi Symbolises Rich Culture, Faith and Social Unity: CM Sai
Raipur, September 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, an idol of Lord Ganesha was installed at the Chief Minister’s residence amid an atmosphere of devotion, faith and enthusiasm. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with his family members, performed the traditional Ganapati Sthapana and worshipped Lord Ganesha according to rituals and customs. He prayed for the happiness, prosperity, good health and well-being of the people of Chhattisgarh.
Extending his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on Ganesh Chaturthi, Chief Minister Sai said that Lord Ganesha is regarded as a symbol of wisdom and intellect. He noted that according to an ancient Indian tradition, worshipping Lord Ganesha marks the beginning of any auspicious occasion or undertaking.
The Chief Minister said Ganeshotsav is not only a festival of faith and devotion but also an occasion that strengthens mutual love, harmony and unity in society.
He highlighted the special significance of festivals and celebrations in the cultural life of Chhattisgarh. According to him, traditional festivals connect people with their cultural roots and heritage while also bringing families and communities together.
“Ganeshotsav” also inspires people to embrace the spirit of togetherness, harmony and collective welfare, the Chief Minister said.
Sai emphasised that festivals provide an opportunity to preserve and celebrate the state's rich cultural traditions while strengthening social bonds. He said the collective celebration of such occasions reflects the values of mutual respect, harmony and goodwill that have long been an integral part of Chhattisgarh's social and cultural fabric.
The Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at the Chief Minister’s residence were attended by members of the Chief Minister’s family. Chief Minister’s Advisor Dr Dhirendra Tiwari, Press Officer Alok Singh, and officers and employees of the Chief Minister’s Residence Office were also present on the occasion.
