Jaipur, September 2026: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Friday reviewed the progress of schemes and works being implemented under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the state at a meeting held at the Government Secretariat.
He directed officials to accelerate ongoing works under the mission and ensure their completion within the stipulated timelines. He also instructed officials to hold regular meetings of the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) in all districts and ensure effective reviews of project progress, quality and pending works during these meetings.
Instructions to Expedite Pending Projects
The Chief Secretary directed officials to accord priority to pending works under major projects, small projects and retrofitting schemes and complete them at the earliest.
He also called for effective completion of Nal Jal Mitra training. Srinivas directed officials to coordinate and communicate with the National Jal Jeevan Mission to remove any hurdles in payments related to projects being implemented under the mission and ensure the early resolution of pending cases.
2,929 Single-Village Schemes Completed by September
Officials informed the meeting that 2,929 single-village schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission had been completed in the state by September. The remaining schemes will also be completed at the earliest, they said.
Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Hemant Gera; Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, Dr Jogaram; Joint Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Saksham Goyal; Chief Engineer (Jal Jeevan Mission) Bhawani Singh Shekhawat and senior officials of the concerned departments attended the meeting.
