Jaipur, Oct 2026 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday released its first list of 60 candidates for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections in Rajasthan, announcing nominees for 15 Zila Parishad seats and 45 Panchayat Samiti wards.
The list was announced at a press conference by AAP Organisational General Secretary Vishvendra Singh and Jaipur District President Amit Dadhich. The party said additional candidates would be announced in the coming days as it expands its preparations for the rural local-body polls.
Jhalawar has received significant representation in the first list, with AAP fielding candidates in 18 Panchayat Samiti wards. The district is closely associated with former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, and the party’s candidate selection marks part of its effort to establish a presence across rural constituencies.
The party has also announced nominees for Panchayat Samiti wards in Sawar in Ajmer district; Raini, Laxmangarh and Malakheda in Alwar; and several areas across Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Didwana-Kuchaman, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali, Rajsamand, Tonk and Sawai Madhopur.
Among the candidates named are Mahavir Prasad, who will contest Ward 19 of Alsisar in Jhunjhunu district, and Lokpal, the nominee for Ward 3 of Chirawa.
AAP had announced in September that it would contest the Panchayati Raj elections across Rajasthan. The release of its first candidate list formally begins the party’s candidate-level preparations for the polls.
The upcoming elections are expected to see political parties strengthen their presence at the grassroots level, with candidates and campaign strategies being finalised across districts.
By announcing nominees across multiple districts in its first phase, AAP has outlined its initial electoral footprint in Rajasthan’s rural local bodies. The party is expected to release further lists as preparations progress and the election process advances.
