CHANDIGARH, Oct 2026 : Reaffirming his government’s uncompromising ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that his government stands firmly with Parvinder Singh Jhota’s family and has transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in response to their demand, reaffirming that the fight against drug traffickers will continue until Punjab is free from the menace of drugs. He asserted that his government would not back down from taking the toughest steps necessary to protect Punjab’s youth and secure their future, making it clear that no action would be avoided when the future of the state’s children is at stake.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “We stand firmly with Parvinder Singh Jhota’s father and his family at all times as they fight against drugs. Respecting the family’s demand, we are handing over this case to the CBI. Our fight against drug traffickers is a battle to the finish. We will not back down from taking whatever stringent steps are necessary to make Punjab drug-free.”
Senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia stated, “This is a major step by the Bhagwant Mann government. The decision to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been taken in response to the family’s demand. When it comes to Punjab and the future of its children, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann never backs down from taking the strictest possible steps. The AAP government is waging an all-out war against drugs. This battle must be won at all costs to make Punjab drug-free.”
Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said, “Attempts are being made to turn this into an issue. However, our Yudh Nashean Virudh continues unabated. This morning, Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann informed people of Punjab about the decision to hand over the case involving Parvinder Singh Jhota, who fought against drugs, to the CBI. Before this, the Punjab Police had taken strict action against the people accused in the case. Now, the decision has been taken to transfer this case to the CBI,” he added.
The Cabinet Minister asserted on ‘X’, “We stand with the family because our highest priority is to protect Punjab’s youth from drugs. Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the ongoing fight against drug traffickers reflects our resolve to secure the future of Punjab’s coming generations.”
On the other hand, Cabinet Minister Dr Baljit Kaur stated, “CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that the investigation into Parvinder Singh Jhota’s case will be handed over to the CBI. At this time, we stand firmly with Parvinder Singh Jhota’s family. Led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, a decisive battle against drug traffickers is underway to protect Punjab’s youth from the scourge of drugs. Eradicating the drug trade from its roots and giving Punjab’s youth renewed hope and a better future is our resolve.”
