Historic Meeting at Mumbai Landmark
Mumbai, October 2026 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcomed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at Mumbai’s historic Gateway of India on Tuesday. The Chief Minister honoured Rubio by draping a traditional shawl around him and briefed him on the historical and cultural significance of the Gateway of India and its surroundings.
During the visit, Fadnavis and Rubio held a conversation before touring the Gateway of India परिसर. The meeting offered an opportunity to familiarise the US Secretary of State with Mumbai’s rich historical heritage and distinctive cultural identity.
Lokesh Chandra, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister; Dr Rajesh Gawande, Secretary of the Protocol Department; Kaustubh Dhavse, Adviser to the Chief Minister; and members of Rubio’s delegation were present on the occasion.
