Hyderabad, October 2026: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy performed Ayudha Puja at his residence on Tuesday on the occasion of Vijayadashami, participating in the traditional rituals conducted by priests. Firearms belonging to security personnel were also placed for worship as part of the ceremony.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLAs Sri Ganesh and Naveen Yadav, Youth Congress state president Shiva Charan Reddy, and Congress leader Rohin Reddy attended the puja.

Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister travelled to his native village, Kondareddipalle, in Nagarkurnool district to participate in Dussehra celebrations.

MLAs, MLCs, local representatives, senior officials and villagers accorded him a warm welcome. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), residents greeted Revanth Reddy with traditional drumbeats, large garlands and showers of flowers.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by his family members, offered special prayers at the Anjaneya Swamy Temple. They subsequently visited the Kota Maisamma Temple to perform special prayers.

As part of the Dussehra celebrations, Revanth Reddy also participated in the traditional worship of the Jammi Chettu, or Jammi tree, an important custom associated with the festival in Telangana.

In his Dussehra message, the Chief Minister highlighted the tradition of exchanging Jammi tree leaves, regarded symbolically as gold, with elders and seeking their blessings. He said the custom served as a reminder to respect elders and cherish nature.

In a social media post, Revanth Reddy described Kondareddipalle as a land of inspiration that had played a significant role in his journey from an ordinary individual to becoming the Chief Minister of Telangana.

“Celebrating the auspicious festival of Dussehra with my family members in Kondareddipalli. Praying to Lord Anjaneyaswamy of Kondareddipalli to bestow His blessings upon all, ensuring prosperity and well-being for the people of the state. It brings me immense joy to celebrate the festival of Dussehra on the very soil where I was born,” he wrote.

The Chief Minister’s visit highlighted the personal and cultural significance of celebrating Dussehra in his native village, where traditional rituals, family prayers and community participation marked the festival.
