- ₹4 lakh for each deceased victim’s family, ₹2 lakh for each seriously injured person and ₹50,000 for other injured persons
Bhopal, Oct 2026 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has expressed profound grief over the deaths of devotees in a truck accident in Gwalior during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
Describing the news as deeply heartbreaking, the Chief Minister said the state government stands with all the families affected by the tragedy. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
In a post on X, Dr Yadav said he had directed the state government to provide financial assistance of ₹4 lakh to the family of each deceased victim, ₹2 lakh to each seriously injured person and ₹50,000 to each of the other injured persons. He also announced that all the injured would receive free medical treatment.
The Chief Minister said the affected families belong to Gwalior, Shivpuri and Sheopur districts. He has directed ministers Edal Singh Kansana and Rakesh Shukla to reach Gwalior at the earliest to assist with the response to the incident.
Dr Yadav also prayed to Baba Mahakal to grant a place at His divine feet to those who lost their lives, give their grieving families the strength to endure this immense loss, and ensure a speedy recovery for the injured.
