Rajasthan witnessing new dimensions of development under Prime Minister’s leadership
State Government ensuring farmers’ welfare, livelihoods for women and employment for youth

Jaipur, September 24: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that every moment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life over the past 25 years has been dedicated to public service. He said that the Seva Sankalp Yatra from Vadnagar to Varanasi is being organised to take this message of service to people across the country. The Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan will continue from September 17 to October 17.
The Chief Minister was addressing the Seva Samvad Programme under the Seva Sankalp Yatra Abhiyaan in Bikaner on Thursday. He said that the Prime Minister has given significant impetus to initiatives related to social causes. Campaigns such as Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, he added, have given a new direction to society and the country.
Inspired by the Prime Minister’s Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, Rajasthan is implementing the Hariyalo Rajasthan Abhiyaan. The Chief Minister said that the State has set a target of planting 50 crore saplings over five years, of which 28 crore saplings have already been planted.
Major transformation in infrastructure and welfare schemes for the poor; India draws growing global attention
The Chief Minister said that India’s prestige across the world has increased under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Referring to the period before 2014, he said that the country was affected by terrorism, Naxalism, corruption and appeasement, while corruption involving lakhs and crores of rupees was taking place and the country’s borders were insecure.
He added that the situation has changed significantly since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed leadership of the country, with major changes taking place in areas ranging from infrastructure development to welfare schemes for the poor. He noted that India’s economy ranked 11th in the world in 2014 and said that the country has now emerged as one of the world’s leading economies. Countries across the world, both large and small, are increasingly looking towards India, he said.
The Chief Minister said that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the country is working with the spirit of “Nation First”. He added that the Prime Minister has facilitated the resolution of 10 inter-State projects that had remained pending for decades.
These include four projects aimed at meeting Rajasthan’s water requirements—the Ramjal Setu, Yamuna Water Agreement, Narmada Agreement and Kishau Multipurpose Dam Project. The Chief Minister said that under the Ramjal Setu Link Project, estimated to cost ₹1 lakh crore, works worth approximately ₹41,000 crore are being undertaken. Similarly, the ₹35,000-crore Yamuna Water Project is being rapidly implemented on the ground.
He further said that efforts are being made under the Prime Minister’s leadership to empower four important sections of society—youth, women, farmers and workers. Under his guidance, Rajasthan is witnessing new dimensions of development.
The Chief Minister added that Rajasthan is moving towards self-reliance in the energy sector and is now supplying electricity to other States. At the same time, the State Government is working to ensure farmers’ welfare, livelihood opportunities for women and employment for youth.
He said that houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana are being provided to needy people. De-notified, nomadic and semi-nomadic families are also being provided land pattas to facilitate their permanent settlement.
Emphasising the values of public service, the Chief Minister said that selfless service, discipline, compassion and social responsibility connect us with the people. He stressed that everyone must remain sensitive towards the needs and concerns of the public.
Earlier, at the Veterinary College in Bikaner, the Chief Minister witnessed through video conference Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with riders participating in the bike rally organised under the Seva Sankalp programme. He also interacted with the riders and learnt about their experiences.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off the Kalash Yatra and the bike rally proceeding from Vadnagar to Varanasi. He also planted saplings and conveyed the message of environmental conservation.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, MLAs, other public representatives and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
