New Delhi, October 2026 : The Congress has intensified preparations for the INDIA bloc’s proposed mega rally against alleged electoral irregularities, termed “Vote Chori” by the opposition, scheduled for November 1 at Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary KC Venugopal on Friday said the party held high-level meetings with senior leaders from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to strengthen mobilisation efforts and ensure large-scale participation in the rally.
In a post on X, Venugopal said he and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met AICC in-charge for Uttar Pradesh Rajendra Pal Gautam, UP Congress president Aradhana Misra ‘Mona’ and other senior leaders from the state. The discussions focused on organisational preparations and strategies to bring supporters to the national capital.
A separate meeting was held with AICC in-charge Sanjay Dutt, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Rao Narender Singh and other senior leaders from Haryana to coordinate mobilisation activities in the state, Venugopal said.
Describing the November 1 programme as the culmination of a large-scale ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, Venugopal expressed confidence that at least one million people would participate in the march and rally. He characterised the campaign against what the Congress calls “Vote Chori” as a significant political mobilisation to highlight concerns over the electoral process.
Venugopal alleged that electoral irregularities were orchestrated by “Gyanesh and Co.” at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. These remarks reflect the Congress leadership’s allegations, which were not independently established in the statement.
The Congress general secretary said participants from different parts of the country were expected to converge in Delhi, adding that the rally would demonstrate the opposition alliance’s commitment to safeguarding democratic institutions.
The INDIA bloc has been conducting protests and public awareness campaigns over alleged irregularities in elections and electoral procedures. The November 1 rally is being positioned by the opposition as a major platform to bring these concerns before the public and press for accountability.
With the event approaching, the Congress is focusing on strengthening its organisational network across states, particularly in northern India. Meetings with state leaders are intended to coordinate participation, logistics and outreach ahead of the proposed gathering.
The party has appealed to its supporters and citizens concerned about electoral transparency to join the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march and the rally at Ramleela Maidan.
The mobilisation is expected to serve as a key test of the INDIA bloc’s ability to coordinate its constituent parties around a common political issue and draw supporters to a major public demonstration in the national capital.
