CM holds key discussions with Gardens by the Bay, attends Singapore Business Federation leadership dinner and showcases Chhattisgarh’s investment potential
Raipur, October 2026: A Chhattisgarh delegation led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is in Singapore to participate in the first Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum 2026, organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) following the delegation’s nomination by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
On the first day of the visit, Chief Minister Sai and the Chhattisgarh delegation held a formal meeting with senior officials of the world-renowned Gardens by the Bay, including General Manager, Master Planning Jason Yeo and Director Lim Chiaap Song.
During the meeting, the Chhattisgarh delegation was briefed on the organisation’s master planning, sustainable design practices and garden management systems. Discussions focused on possibilities for institutional cooperation in horticulture, plant conservation, urban greenery, eco-tourism and capacity building.
Chief Minister Sai said Chhattisgarh is endowed with rich forests and extensive biodiversity and could benefit from the expertise and experience of Gardens by the Bay.
He said the organisation’s experience could be utilised for the development of a botanical garden in Nava Raipur as well as for improving landscaping and expanding green spaces in both urban and rural areas of the state.
According to the Chief Minister, such initiatives could provide fresh momentum to tourism in Chhattisgarh, increase tourist footfall and create new employment opportunities for hundreds of people.
CM Attends SBF Leadership Dinner
In the evening, Sai attended a leadership dinner hosted by the Singapore Business Federation on the eve of the SING Forum.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, India’s High Commissioner to Singapore Dr Shilpak Ambule, SBF Chairman Mark Lee and CEO Kok Ping Soon were among those present.
Senior representatives of companies and organisations including Mastercard, Tata Consultancy Services, Nestlé and The Indian Hotels Company Limited participated in the dinner along with members of the Singapore Business Federation. Delegations from Chhattisgarh and Haryana also attended the event.
The leadership dinner provided a platform for discussions between Indian states and Singapore’s business community on investment, trade and long-term economic partnerships.
Chhattisgarh Presented as Emerging Investment Destination
During the interaction, Sai presented Chhattisgarh as a rapidly emerging investment destination. He highlighted the state’s progressive industrial policies, reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business and opportunities available in sectors including MSMEs, startups and manufacturing.
The Chief Minister invited Singapore’s business community to participate in the journey of building a “Developed Chhattisgarh” and explore investment opportunities in the state.
Sai will participate in the SING Forum 2026 on October 5. On October 6, he is scheduled to attend a CEO roundtable with senior leadership of leading Singaporean companies and investment institutions, where investment opportunities and avenues for economic partnerships with Chhattisgarh will be discussed in detail.
