Mumbai, Sept 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday launched the trailer of ‘Prahar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam’ at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai.
The event was attended by MP and senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam, actor Rajkummar Rao, producers and directors of Maddock Films, police officers and personnel, and family members of police personnel who were killed in the line of duty.
Fadnavis said the film would bring before the public the long legal battle fought against terrorism following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
“This is not merely a film for entertainment, but one that conveys an important message,” Fadnavis said, adding that the Indian police and judicial system had demonstrated to the world that India is a nation where justice is delivered through the rule of law.
He said the legal battle, particularly with Nikam’s role as the public prosecutor, helped secure justice for the victims and those who lost their lives in the attacks.
The Chief Minister also paid tribute to the personnel who fought with courage on the night of November 26, 2008, and played a crucial role in confronting and neutralising the terrorists.
Fadnavis said it was important, as a form of justice to the real heroes of the attacks, that the world should understand the facts surrounding the terrorist activities behind the incident.
He extended his best wishes to the entire team associated with the film.
At the beginning of the programme, Fadnavis paid homage to the police officers and personnel who were killed during the 26/11 terror attacks by laying a wreath in their memory. Tributes were also paid to the martyrs.
Police officers and personnel who displayed courage while protecting Mumbai and confronting the terrorists during the attacks were honoured at the event. Their family members were also felicitated.
‘Prahar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam’ is based on the life and career of advocate Ujjwal Nikam and the legal battle surrounding the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Actor Rajkummar Rao portrays Ujjwal Nikam in the film.
The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on October 16, 2026.
