Jason Sanjay’s action entertainer, centred on a high-stakes heist and a Rs 500-crore crime racket, is set to hit screens worldwide
Chennai, Sept 2026 : Director Jason Sanjay’s much-awaited action entertainer ‘Sigma’, starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead, has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate, paving the way for its worldwide theatrical release on October 2.
Producer GKM Tamil Kumaran announced the certification on X, sharing a poster of the film and confirming that ‘Sigma’ is ready for audiences in theatres. The U/A certification allows the film to be viewed by a general audience, with parental guidance advised for children.
‘Sigma’ is billed as an action-adventure and heist comedy that combines high-octane sequences with humour, emotion and elements of crime and deception. The film is directed by Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil actor Vijay, and is produced by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner.
The makers recently unveiled the trailer, offering a glimpse into the film’s central conflict and the journey of its protagonist, played by Sundeep Kishan. The trailer suggests that the protagonist is betrayed and suffers a major setback. Rather than allowing the betrayal to defeat him, he decides to fight back and reclaim what he has lost.
At the heart of the narrative is a massive Rs 500-crore racket involving drugs and gambling. The protagonist is drawn into this dangerous world while attempting to execute an ambitious heist with the assistance of his friends.
The trailer also introduces his romantic connection with Sam, an RJ played by Faria Abdullah. The protagonist and his friends appear to meticulously plan their operation, but their efforts are disrupted by Reddy, portrayed by Sampath Raj. The unexpected turn of events puts their mission in jeopardy and forces the protagonist to regroup.
The story subsequently follows his attempt to return stronger and overcome the obstacles standing between him and his objective. The trailer indicates that the film will balance action and adventure with lighter moments and emotional sequences.
Apart from Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, the cast includes Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Pandit, Anbu Thasan and Yog Japee in prominent roles.
The film is scheduled to release worldwide on October 2. Mythri Movie Distributors Ltd is handling the theatrical distribution in Coastal Andhra and Telangana, while NVR Cinema is distributing the film in the Ceded region.
On the technical front, ‘Sigma’ features cinematography by Krishnan Vasant. The visuals showcased in the trailer present a contemporary style suited to the film’s action-driven narrative. Music has been composed by S Thaman, while National Award-winning editor K L Praveen is responsible for the editing.
With its certification now complete and the release date approaching, ‘Sigma’ is set for its theatrical debut during the festive period, with the makers positioning it as an action-packed entertainer combining crime, heist elements, humour and emotion.
