- Directs NHAI officials to complete requisite arrangements well in advance
In view of the upcoming visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu to AIIMS Bilaspur, the Governor Kavinder Gupta, today inspected the ongoing four laning work on NH-205 from Kalar Bala Village to Nauni Chowk.
During the inspection, NHAI officials briefed the Governor on the overall progress of the four-laning project, which involves up-gradation of the existing road from Kalar Bala Village to Nauni Chowk on NH-205 over a stretch of 17.450 km. The officials apprised the Governor of the work completed so far, ongoing construction activities and the proposed timeline for completion, informing that the project is scheduled to be completed by September 2027. They also briefed him on the arrangements being made to facilitate smooth connectivity and traffic movement in the vicinity of AIIMS Bilaspur during the forthcoming visit of the President of India.
The Governor directed the concerned officials to accord priority to all works related to the movement and connectivity around AIIMS Bilaspur in view of the forthcoming visit of the President. He emphasised the need to ensure timely clearance of the passage and completion of necessary arrangements well in advance.
The Governor also stressed upon maintaining smooth, safe and regulated traffic movement during the visit, while ensuring that commuters and local residents face minimum inconvenience. He directed the officials to maintain close coordination among all concerned agencies and ensure that all requisite arrangements are completed within the stipulated timelines.
The Governor underscored that development and infrastructure works should be carried out with due regard to public convenience, road safety and the requirements of important national and state-level visits.
