Bhubaneswar, September 2026 : Odisha’s final electoral roll for 2026 was published on Monday following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with the state now having 3,16,32,754 registered electors. The final list was prepared after processing claims, objections and verification of entries excluded from the draft roll.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, the final electorate comprises 1,61,30,319 male voters, 1,54,99,661 female voters and 2,774 third-gender voters. Before the SIR exercise, Odisha had 3,33,99,591 electors as of May 17, 2026. The final figure is therefore 17,66,837 lower than the pre-revision electorate.
The enumeration phase was conducted from May 30 to June 28, during which forms were distributed to voters. A total of 3,13,87,034 enumeration forms, representing 93.97 per cent of the electorate, were received. Another 20,12,557 entries were not included in the draft electoral roll.
According to the election authorities, the excluded entries included 8,32,544 cases involving deaths, 8,08,205 cases of voters who had shifted residence, 1,99,249 absent electors and 1,58,118 duplicate entries, while 14,441 cases were categorised under other reasons.
Draft Roll Had 3.13 Crore Electors
The draft electoral roll published on July 5 contained 3,13,87,034 electors, including 1,60,19,176 men, 1,53,65,083 women and 2,775 third-gender voters.
Of those listed in the draft roll, 3,00,88,255 electors were mapped either to themselves or to their progenitors, while 12,98,779 electors remained unmapped.
For verification of unmapped electors and voters whose records showed logical discrepancies, authorities issued 58,36,392 notices. These included 12,98,779 notices to unmapped electors and 45,37,613 notices relating to entries with logical discrepancies.
During the claims and objections period, a total of 2,55,996 claims and objections were received and processed. Following the verification exercise, 2,90,497 electors were added to the draft roll, while 44,777 names were deleted.
The additions included 2,74,245 names through Form-6, 35 through Form-6A and 16,217 through Form-8. Following hearings, 24,070 electors were found ineligible for inclusion in the final roll, while 20,707 names were removed based on Form-7 applications.
As a result, the final roll recorded a net increase of 2,45,720 electors over the draft list, taking the total to 3,16,32,754.
45,250 Polling Stations
After rationalisation, Odisha will have 45,250 polling stations. The final electoral roll for service voters has also been published, containing 46,816 service electors.
The Chief Electoral Officer has appealed to voters to verify their names and details in the final electoral roll. Eligible citizens can use Form-6 or Form-6A for inclusion, Form-8 for correction of details and Form-7 for deletion-related requests.
The final roll is available for inspection at polling stations as well as the offices of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs). It has also been made available through the Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha websites.
The completion of the SIR has resulted in a substantial revision of Odisha’s electoral database, with the final list reflecting changes made through field verification, claims and objections and subsequent scrutiny of voter records.
