Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that road projects are being implemented at a rapid pace across the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and with the initiatives of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari. He said that this has helped promote industrial activities as well as religious tourism. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views during a review meeting on national highway projects held at the Chief Minister’s Residence in the presence of Union Minister Shri Gadkari. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also briefed Union Minister Shri Gadkari on major projects in the state and future road expansion plans.
No Delay in Completion of Road Projects
Union Minister Shri Gadkari said that the highest priority should be given to quality in the construction of road projects. The design of every project should conform to technical standards, particularly with regard to road safety. At locations where road projects are delayed due to difficulties faced by local residents, solutions should be worked out through dialogue and coordination. State government officials should remain in regular contact with the concerned Union ministries regarding land acquisition and forest clearance cases. He directed that projects must be completed without any delay. State Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh and Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal were present at the meeting.
Road Connectivity of Kanha National Park to Nagpur, Jabalpur and Raipur to Be Strengthened
Union Minister Shri Gadkari said that former Prime Minister late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had a special association with Bateshwar in Uttar Pradesh. The Atal Expressway will be extended up to Bateshwar. He directed that all routes connecting Ujjain be completed expeditiously in view of Simhastha 2028. In view of the inconvenience caused to citizens by the damage to the Shahpura ROB in Jabalpur, Union Minister Shri Gadkari directed the suspension of toll collection at the Shahpura Toll Plaza. The meeting also discussed an action plan to strengthen road connectivity to ‘Kanha National Park' from Nagpur, Jabalpur and Raipur. Shri Gadkari also directed that an action plan be prepared to develop a better road network in Balaghat district.
Central and State Government Officials Attend Meeting
The meeting reviewed the Sondalpur–Nasrullaganj Bypass in Dewas district, Ujjain–Jhalawar Four-Lane Highway, Satna–Chitrakoot Four-Lane Highway and Jabalpur–Lakhnadon–Raipur Greenfield Expressway, and issued necessary directions. The Laoni–Burhanpur Link was also discussed. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary, Public Works, Shri Sukhveer Singh, along with officials of the state Forest and Revenue Departments and the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, were present at the meeting.
