‘Every Citizen Will Have an Important Role in Viksit Bharat 2047’: Minister Laxmi Rajwade
Raipur, September 2026: The first initiative of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’, was organised in Surajpur district on Wednesday with enthusiasm and widespread public participation. As many as 4,11,111 blessing lamps were lit across the district, conveying a message of service, resolve and positivity.
At the district-level programme held at the Rangmanch in the district headquarters, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade inaugurated the campaign by lighting a lamp at 7 p.m. Public representatives, officials and citizens also participated by lighting lamps on the occasion.
Minister Rajwade said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan had been launched through the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative. She said the campaign was an important effort to take activities related to public service and public welfare to people on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.
She said various programmes would be organised across the district over the next month to provide citizens with information about public welfare schemes, development works and achievements.
Minister Rajwade said several significant initiatives had been undertaken in different sectors under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and that various schemes had benefited different sections of society. She said the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 was not merely a government objective but a resolve that could be achieved through the participation of every citizen. Every citizen, she added, would have an important role in achieving this goal.
Referring to various major decisions taken and schemes launched by the Central government, the minister mentioned decisions and initiatives relating to Article 370, demonetisation, legislation against triple talaq and women’s reservation.
She also highlighted initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which connected people with the banking system; the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which promoted cleanliness; efforts towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat; promotion of digital payments; and the Ayushman Bharat scheme aimed at providing health security.
Minister Rajwade said various schemes were also being implemented for the welfare of farmers. She noted that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana had enabled numerous families to receive permanent houses. According to her, various public welfare schemes had brought positive changes to people’s lives.
She said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was aimed at connecting people with the country’s development journey and further strengthening public participation. Over the next month, various awareness activities related to service, public participation and social concerns will be organised across the district.
Local Art and Culture Take Centre Stage
The district-level Seva Sankalp Abhiyan programme showcased the rich tribal culture, folk art and traditions of Surajpur. Artists dressed in traditional attire presented cultural performances accompanied by traditional musical instruments and folk songs.
The cultural programmes conveyed a message of preserving and promoting the region’s local art and cultural heritage.
‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ Illuminates Homes Across the District
Under the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative, lamps were lit at homes across the district. School students, women members of self-help groups, beneficiaries of government schemes, public representatives and citizens participated enthusiastically.
Lamps were lit simultaneously at various locations across Surajpur, conveying a message of public participation and social solidarity in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
