Aizawl, September 2026: Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Minister and MLA Lalrinpuii today felicitated F. Lalbiaksiami, a young hockey player from Lunglei who was part of the champion team at the 20th AHF Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2026, held in China from September 4 to 13.
At a programme held in the Minister’s office chamber at MINECO, Lalrinpuii presented Lalbiaksiami with a felicitation citation and cash award in recognition of her achievement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said it was a matter of great pride and happiness that Mizoram had once again achieved a significant milestone in women’s empowerment and sports through its hockey players.
She noted that Mizo women athletes have repeatedly represented the country at the national and international levels, bringing recognition to Mizoram. She also appreciated the contribution and efforts of the coaches, officials, family members and others who support and guide the players.
The Minister said it was important to inspire young people by demonstrating that, irrespective of where they come from, they can achieve great heights through dedication and hard work.
Encouraging F. Lalbiaksiami, Lalrinpuii urged her to continue to be a role model for other young people and to strive to reach the highest level possible through sustained effort and determination.
F. Lalbiaksiami received support from the Mizoram Hockey Association, officials of the state government departments, her coaches, family members and well-wishers throughout her journey.
She is scheduled to return to her hometown, Lunglei, on September 19, 2026.
