Nitin Nabin unveils organisational reshuffle covering 28 states and eight Union Territories
New Delhi, Sep 2026 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced a fresh organisational line-up of state in-charges and co-in-charges for all 28 states and eight Union Territories, with party president Nitin Nabin assigning several senior leaders multiple responsibilities.
The appointments, which take effect immediately, are part of a wider organisational restructuring. Nabin congratulated the newly appointed prabharis and sah prabharis and said their efforts would strengthen the party organisation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Among the prominent appointments, former Union minister Smriti Irani has been named in-charge of Haryana and Chhattisgarh, with Bhola Singh as co-in-charge for Haryana and Siddharth Shambhu for Chhattisgarh.
Vinod Tawde has been appointed Uttar Pradesh in-charge, with Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Pradeep Verma and Anant Ojha as co-in-charges. Baijayant Jay Panda will oversee Maharashtra, assisted by Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanawade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat.
Sunil Bansal will continue as in-charge of both Telangana and West Bengal. Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma have been appointed co-in-charges for Telangana, while Lal Singh Arya, Rajendra Singh and Pinki Kushwaha will assist Bansal in West Bengal.

The reshuffle also assigns Ram Madhav responsibility for Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand, while Satish Poonia has been given charge of Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. Mangal Pandey will oversee Assam, while Arvind Bhadoria has been assigned Andhra Pradesh. Sanjay Bhatia will be the in-charge for Rajasthan, with Kavita Patidar and Kuljeet Chahal as co-in-charges.
The BJP has also made changes to its communication structure. Ashish Usha Agrawal has been appointed convenor of the national media department, while Anil Baluni has been named coordinator of the communication department.
The list covers the remaining states and Union Territories, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim and Tripura.
The notification was issued by BJP national headquarters in-charge Tarun Chugh and circulated to state presidents and organisational general secretaries. The appointments come as the party prepares its organisational structure for upcoming electoral and organisational programmes.
