New Delhi, October 2026 : Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and said he had received guidance on improving the lives of the state’s poor, youth, farmers and women, while creating new opportunities for them.
Following the meeting, Patel shared a post on social media platform X, describing the interaction as an opportunity to seek the Prime Minister’s advice on the state’s development priorities.
“Today, I had the privilege of meeting the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi,” Patel said.
“During this meeting, I received his guidance and valuable advice on bringing happiness and prosperity to the lives of the state’s poor, youth, farmers and women, and creating new opportunities for them,” he added.
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to the vision of ‘Developed Gujarat – Developed India’, emphasising the state’s role in contributing to the country’s broader development goals.
Patel also said that meeting the Prime Minister always brought a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm.
The meeting comes ahead of the National Unity Day celebrations scheduled for October 31 at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district. The event will mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
Earlier, on October 17, the Gujarat Chief Minister visited Ekta Nagar to review preparations for the annual celebrations and launch Ekta Prakash Parv-2026.
During the visit, Patel held a review meeting with officials at Arogya Van and inspected the main parade venue. He also reviewed arrangements for visitors expected to attend the event.
National Unity Day is observed annually at the Statue of Unity, the 182-metre monument dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Located in Ekta Nagar, the statue has become a major tourist attraction and a prominent landmark in Gujarat.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to pay tribute to Sardar Patel at the monument on October 31 before participating in the National Unity Day celebrations.
The annual event commemorates Patel’s contribution to national integration, particularly his role in bringing hundreds of princely states together following Independence.
Preparations are underway to ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations and manage arrangements for dignitaries and visitors.
