Mandis to Remain Open on Holidays in Interest of Maize and Soybean Farmers

The state government is committed to protecting the interests of soybean and maize farmers. On the directions of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, it has been decided to keep mandis open for procurement even on holidays to facilitate soybean and maize-producing farmers. Ensuring that farmers receive a fair price for their hard work remains the government's highest priority.

All Joint Directors of the Mandi Board have been instructed to keep mandis open for farmers on holidays as well. At present, mandis across the state are witnessing a large inflow of notified agricultural produce. During this period, farmers need to sell their produce promptly and receive payment. If mandis remain closed on holidays, farmers may have to wait until the next working day to sell their produce. This would not only delay the sale of agricultural produce but also cause financial and practical difficulties for farmers.

Keeping farmers' convenience and interests in view, it is essential to ensure that arrangements for the marketing of agricultural produce at mandis continue smoothly even on holidays.

The concerned officials have been directed to hold discussions and meetings with licensed traders and establish proper coordination. They must ensure that agricultural marketing activities continue at mandi premises and sub-mandi premises even on holidays, so that farmers do not face unnecessary delays or any inconvenience in selling their produce.
