Revanth Reddy Accuses KCR of Attempting to Grab ₹50,000 Crore Miyapur Land, Vows to Protect Public Assets

New Delhi, October 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of attempting to encroach upon 550 acres of prime government land in Hyderabad's Miyapur area, valued at approximately ₹50,000 crore. A day after the Supreme Court upheld the Telangana government's claim over the disputed land, Revanth Reddy directed officials to take possession of the property and secure it by erecting a boundary fence.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the Chief Minister described the Supreme Court verdict in the 23-year-old legal dispute as a "historic" decision and thanked the apex court for protecting the state's interests. He alleged that KCR, his close associate and Rajya Sabha MP Damodar Rao, and the CMD of Namasthe Telangana had attempted to grab the valuable property by using businessman Goldstone Prasad as a front.

"By protecting this land, the Supreme Court has ensured that these valuable public assets remain with the people of Telangana. This is a monumental judgment in the interest of the state and its people," Revanth Reddy said.

He claimed that the Congress, while in opposition during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, had consistently opposed attempts to take control of the land. After coming to power, the Congress government pursued the legal battle and secured a favourable verdict from the Supreme Court.

The Chief Minister further claimed that his government had protected government properties worth approximately ₹1.50 lakh crore through legal interventions and administrative action.

During the press conference, Revanth Reddy levelled several allegations against the previous BRS government and its leaders, accusing them of attempting to take over valuable government and forest lands across Telangana. He alleged that revenue records were manipulated to facilitate land encroachments and also raised allegations of luxury cars and cash being exchanged as bribes. These allegations were made by the Chief Minister and were not independently established during the press conference.

Targeting BRS working president and former minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), Revanth Reddy alleged that he had attempted to acquire IMG lands in collusion with the Bhalerao family. He also accused BRS leaders of attempting to take control of government properties at Kancha Gachibowli and Mamidipally, claiming that the Congress government had protected these lands through legal proceedings.

The Chief Minister further alleged that associates of KTR had attempted to encroach upon forest land at Gurramguda, where the Supreme Court subsequently upheld the land's forest status.

Referring to another dispute, Revanth Reddy claimed that KTR and Rayalaseema Builders had attempted to acquire 143 acres at Manchirevula. He said the state government successfully protected the property and established a school for the children of police personnel on the land.

He also alleged that around 400 acres of forest land in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district had been handed over to an MLA who later defected to the BRS. According to the Chief Minister, the Congress government pursued the matter before the Supreme Court to protect the property.

Challenging KCR and KTR, Revanth Reddy invited them to participate in a debate in the Telangana Assembly on the alleged land encroachments and financial irregularities during the previous government.

The Chief Minister said the 550 acres of Miyapur land would be utilised to generate resources for public development rather than allowing valuable government property to remain embroiled in disputes. He indicated that the proceeds from the land could be directed towards priority sectors, particularly education.

He added that the state Cabinet would take a final decision on the utilisation of the resources. A Cabinet subcommittee on resource mobilisation would examine the proposals and recommend how the funds generated from the land could be deployed for education and other development initiatives.

Revanth Reddy said the government's broader objective was to safeguard public assets and use them to finance essential sectors, including irrigation, healthcare and education.

The Supreme Court's decision in the long-running Miyapur land dispute has therefore emerged as a significant development for the Telangana government. The administration is now expected to focus on securing the property and examining its future utilisation, while the political confrontation between the Congress and BRS over allegations of land grabbing continues.
