Those Unable to Maintain Law and Order in Their Own States Are Lecturing Punjab: Kejriwal

October 2026 : The alleged attack on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has once again raised questions about law and order in BJP-ruled Gujarat. After the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, whose alleged leader is lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail, reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal criticised the BJP over its handling of gangster-related crime.

Kejriwal said those unable to maintain law and order in their own states were preparing to lecture Punjab on the issue.

“The country’s biggest gangster has been treated like their son-in-law and given every facility to commit crimes not just in India but across the world,” Kejriwal alleged.

He said BJP leaders would visit Punjab on Tuesday to speak about law and order, but claimed that people in the state understood the political implications of supporting the party.

“People in Punjab know that voting for them would be like inviting their son-in-law into Punjab,” he said, targeting the BJP over the alleged links between criminal gangs and the state’s prison system.

Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and the party’s Punjab in-charge, Manish Sisodia, accused the BJP of turning Gujarat’s prisons into a “safe haven” for gangsters, alleging that the consequences were being felt across the country.

In a post on X, Sisodia also accused the BJP of allowing Gujarat’s ports to become safe havens for narcotics allegedly arriving from Pakistan. He claimed that the resulting problems were affecting Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Sisodia questioned the effectiveness of the government’s cybercrime enforcement measures, referring to social media pages allegedly associated with gangsters that reportedly carry threats against prominent celebrities.

He asked whether the government’s cybersecurity teams, which he accused of targeting Gen-Z protesters and engaging in online confrontations with young people, were doing enough to tackle criminal threats.

“Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cyber experts explain how these gangster pages, through which threats are being issued to some of the country’s biggest stars, remain active in India?” Sisodia asked.

He further questioned whether the government’s cybersecurity resources were being directed primarily towards Gen-Z protesters rather than broader national security concerns.

AAP senior leader and Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar also criticised the BJP over the alleged attack on Tiger Shroff.

In his post on X, Kumar alleged that central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were deployed against opposition leaders who spoke out against the BJP. He claimed that the government was creating an atmosphere in which artists and celebrities would hesitate to criticise the ruling establishment.

Kumar further alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Modi government were using gangsters such as Lawrence Bishnoi to intimidate people. He accused the government of undermining democratic freedoms and keeping the country under pressure through fear.

AAP national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda also targeted the BJP, alleging that gangsters were being protected in Gujarat and that restrictions had been placed on moving them elsewhere.

Dhanda claimed that even if several celebrities were targeted in similar firing incidents, those responsible would face no consequences because of the alleged protection they enjoyed.

The AAP leaders’ statements came amid heightened attention over the reported shooting incident involving Tiger Shroff and allegations surrounding the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Their accusations against the BJP and the Gujarat government remain political claims and have not been independently established in the information provided.
