Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually addressed a Sarthak-organised event in Indore on Thursday to promote Prahar, a feature film based on Padma Shri Ujjwal Nikam’s life. Addressing the event, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that living for the nation was the true purpose of life. Through his forceful, nationalist and well-reasoned arguments, Nikam secured the conviction of the surviving accused in the Mumbai terror attacks, setting an important example. His success in the case further strengthened public faith in the justice system, he said.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that despite the challenges of his professional journey, Nikam had lived up to the meaning of his name, ‘Ujjwal’, and set a benchmark for future generations of public prosecutors. He welcomed and felicitated Padma Shri Ujjwal Nikam on behalf of himself and the state government.
Ujjwal Nikam and other dignitaries also addressed the gathering. Nikam had successfully prosecuted Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist captured alive after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Actor Rajkummar Rao portrays Nikam in Prahar, the feature film based on his life.
Padma Shri Bhalu Mondhe, Jitu Jirati, Jyoti Ujjwal Nikam, founder of Sarthak Deepak Jain (Tinu), Rahul Sethi and a large number of citizens attended the event.
