Undeclared Emergency-Like Situation in the Country; Fight Against Vote Thieves Will Continue: Manish Sisodia

New Delhi, Oct 2029 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on the dictatorial steps being taken by the arrogant Modi government to crush the people's strong voice and peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. The party's top leadership has made it clear in unequivocal terms that no oppressive government can take away the right to protest granted by the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. People across the country are now fully awake to their democratic rights and the theft of their votes, and this historic people's movement will take place under all circumstances.

Dictatorial Grip on Democracy and an Undeclared Emergency

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia expressed serious concern over the current situation in the country and said that frightening conditions resembling an undeclared emergency had been created throughout the nation.

To prevent people from gathering at Jantar Mantar and raising their legitimate voices, trains coming to Delhi from across the country had been cancelled, hundreds of shops and hotels had been forcibly shut down, and even internet services had been suspended. Security personnel and police officers had been deployed on the streets in lakhs, creating an atmosphere of fear. The government was imposing economic losses worth thousands of crores of rupees on ordinary citizens merely to stop a democratic protest.

“An undeclared emergency has been imposed in the country. Vote theft and arrogance—trains carrying lakhs of people have been cancelled so that people cannot come to Jantar Mantar and raise their voices. Shops are closed, hotels are closed, the internet is shut down, and lakhs of police personnel are on the streets. The government is imposing losses worth thousands of crores of rupees on lakhs of people to stop a protest. No matter how much loss the public suffers, the vote thieves must not suffer any loss.”

Vote Theft Will Not Be Tolerated; People Will Take to the Streets

Emphasising the sanctity of people's votes, Manish Sisodia said that the people's vote was their constitutional right. It was not anyone's personal property or inheritance that could be snatched away whenever someone wished, or stolen by anyone.

The Aam Aadmi Party and the country's aware citizens would never tolerate the organised theft of the public mandate through which democratic governments are formed and changed.

He announced that he would personally participate on Saturday in a massive protest organised by young people outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh in support of CJP, and would lead a decisive struggle against vote theft.

Entire Delhi Held Hostage to Protect One Vote Thief

Meanwhile, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh attacked the BJP government's panic, saying that trains heading to the national capital, Delhi, had been stopped across the country. Such unprecedented repression had never been seen or heard of even during the Emergency of 1975.

Someone might be taking a critically ill patient for treatment, someone might be travelling for their livelihood or job, while others might be leaving for urgent family-related work. However, no citizen was being allowed to proceed. The entire administrative machinery had been deployed solely to protect a corrupt individual who, through manipulation, had helped the BJP, which is in power at the Centre, form several governments in Bengal, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana and Maharashtra.

“One lakh police personnel have been deployed to protect one thief. Conditions in the country are worse than during the Emergency. Everything, from trains to the Metro, has been shut down. The country has awakened against vote theft. The vote-thieving duo of Gyanesh and Modi will have to leave power.”

Widespread Arrests, Strong Supreme Court Observation and Exposure of Vote Scandal

Sanjay Singh said that between 50,000 and one lakh police personnel had been deployed to protect the individual who had helped governments come to power through allegedly illegitimate means. Meanwhile, workers were being arrested unlawfully after police raids at their homes, and CJP leaders were being detained.

Referring to the arguments made by senior advocate Kapil Sibal and other lawyers in the Supreme Court, he recalled that the Chief Justice of India had also made the serious observation: why was a hammer needed to kill a fly?

If the government considered these protesters to be nothing more than flies, Singh asked, why was the entire administration so frightened of them, and why was it preventing them from coming to Delhi?

Sanjay Singh directly questioned the Prime Minister about the reason for such overwhelming arrogance.

He alleged that, in the case of Gyanesh Kumar, it had now been fully established that serious objections raised 14 times had been completely ignored, arbitrary changes had been made to Form 6, and an appeal had been made to delete the names of 1.6 million valid voters. He further alleged that a unilateral and dictatorial decision to conduct the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) across the country had resulted in the removal of 133.7 million citizens' names from electoral rolls.

Call for Justice Will Resound at Jantar Mantar

Reiterating his unwavering resolve, Sanjay Singh said that the protest at Jantar Mantar would take place at any cost because holding peaceful demonstrations was a fundamental democratic and constitutional right granted to every citizen under the Constitution of India, drafted by Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.

AAP workers, leaders and aware citizens across the country would overcome every obstacle and reach Jantar Mantar. He said that he would personally reach Jantar Mantar on Saturday to extend strong support to CJP's just and historic people's movement.

He asserted that the time had now come to remove the alleged vote-thieving duo of Gyanesh and Modi from power in the country.
