Road safety solution wins title; winning team receives Rs 25,000 cash prize
Lucknow, September 2026 : In a bid to connect Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh with youth innovation, entrepreneurship and career opportunities, UP RISE 2026 was organised at Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University (RMPSU) in Aligarh.
The state government’s flagship campus innovation and career initiative was organised in collaboration with Times Network and Zoom. A large number of students participated in the programme, showcasing their ideas and innovative solutions on a common platform.
More Than 2,300 Students Participate in Aligarh
More than 2,300 students participated in the Aligarh leg of the programme through registration, awareness activities related to the CM-YUVA scheme and auditorium sessions. The programme recorded a digital reach of more than 50,000, while its offline reach exceeded 5,000.
The event at the university highlighted the growing enthusiasm among young people for innovation and entrepreneurship. RMPSU itself places emphasis on promoting creative talent, scientific thinking and career development among students.
Talent on Display at Build for UP Pitch Finale
As part of UP RISE 2026, a CM-YUVA scheme awareness stall, a ‘Spin the Wheel’ activity and an Octonorm mentorship zone were set up on the campus.
The activities organised in the university lobby and corridors introduced students to various government schemes, career opportunities and avenues for turning their ideas into practical solutions. This was followed by the final round of the Build for UP Pitch Competition in the university auditorium.
13 Student Teams Present Innovation-Based Solutions
Thirteen shortlisted student teams presented their ideas before the jury and fellow students. The participants showcased practical solutions to local problems, new business models and proposals aimed at addressing social needs.
The winning proposal focused on a safety-oriented solution aimed at reducing road accidents caused by high-intensity headlights. The winning team was presented a cash prize of Rs 25,000 on stage, while Fixes Group was declared the runner-up.
Earlier editions of UP RISE have also encouraged students to develop and present startup ideas through pitching opportunities and awards.
UP RISE Reaches Aligarh After Seven Cities
BJP Uttar Pradesh Minister and state media in-charge Yatendra Sharma attended the programme as the chief guest. He encouraged students to pursue innovation, creative thinking and entrepreneurship.
With the Aligarh leg, the UP RISE 2026 university tour has now reached seven cities — Kanpur, Agra, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Mathura, Bareilly, Saharanpur and Aligarh.
