Jaipur, October 2026: The National Motorcycle Rally, carrying the message of public awareness against drug abuse and national unity, reached Jaipur’s Albert Hall on Thursday morning. Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma and senior police officials encouraged the riders before the DGP flagged off the rally for Ajmer.
Sharma said the riders might differ in their uniforms, languages and food habits, but they shared a common goal: building a drug-free India.
He noted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had set a target of making India drug-free by 2029. Achieving this goal required everyone to work together and fulfil their collective responsibility.
“Riders are not just travellers but ambassadors of a drug-free India. Their real strength lies in discipline,” the DGP said.
Pledge to Fight Drug Abuse
The DGP wished the motorcycle riders success as they prepare to participate in the National Unity Day parade at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat on October 31.
He also administered a pledge to stay away from drugs, keep their families and communities free from substance abuse, uphold national unity and ensure that intoxicating substances were not served at any event.
Sharma said the Rajasthan Police would soon launch a comprehensive campaign to make the state drug-free. The plan for the campaign had already been prepared.
He emphasised that the fight against drugs was not the responsibility of any one individual but a collective battle involving the entire society.
Interaction and Awareness Campaign
In front of Albert Hall, the riders interacted with students, NCC cadets, police personnel and members of the public.
They explained that drug abuse affects not only an individual’s physical and mental health but also the entire family. Substance abuse offers no benefits and causes widespread harm, they said.
While various security forces are responsible for safeguarding the country’s borders, young people can strengthen the nation’s future by staying away from drugs. The riders urged everyone to remain drug-free and spread awareness among others.
Personnel from Central Forces and State Police Participate
The rally features riders from several central forces and police organisations, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), National Security Guard (NSG) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), along with state police personnel.
Riders from the Rajasthan Police joined the rally in Jaipur. Officers ranging from constable rank to Inspector General level are participating in the event.
Welcome at Amer Fort
Additional Director General of Police V.K. Singh said the rally had arrived in Jaipur on Wednesday evening, when the riders were welcomed at Amer Fort.
On Thursday morning, riders travelled in separate groups from the Fourth Battalion RAC, Fifth Battalion RAC and Rajasthan Police Academy to reach Albert Hall.
After its stop in Ajmer on October 22, the rally is scheduled to proceed to Chittorgarh and Udaipur on October 23, before departing for Gandhinagar on October 24.
Organised under the theme ‘Fight Against Drugs’, the rally is linked to the National Unity Day parade scheduled for October 31 at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The initiative aims to raise awareness among young people and the general public about the harmful effects of drug abuse while promoting national unity.
DGP (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, DGP (Traffic) Malini Agarwal, senior police officers, NCC cadets, students and Jaipur residents were present on the occasion.
