Jaipur, October 2026 :  Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has taken action under the policy of zero tolerance towards crime in response to recent criminal incidents in the state and cases of negligence and improper conduct by certain police personnel. Expressing strong displeasure over these incidents, he directed that the concerned police officers and personnel be removed from their posts immediately and strict disciplinary action be initiated against them as per rules.

The Chief Minister issued strict instructions to the police officers present at the meeting, including the Director General of Police. He said that Rajasthan has traditionally been a peaceful state, but its image had been adversely affected during the previous government’s tenure. He added that this dignity had been restored under the present government and, therefore, zero tolerance towards crime must be ensured under all circumstances.

During a high-level review of law and order on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the law is equal for everyone. No matter who the offender is, they will not be spared under any circumstances. He also directed all officers to regularly review the law-and-order situation in the ranges and districts under their charge.

For women’s safety, he directed that Kalika patrolling units be operated smoothly and systematically, and that interactions between these units and students in schools and colleges be ensured to help prevent crimes against women effectively.

The Chief Minister said that certain incidents and the improper conduct of some personnel affect the image and credibility of the entire police department. He emphasised that the police’s fundamental responsibility is to instil fear of the law among criminals and strengthen the public’s sense of safety and trust.
