Jaipur, September 2026:Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas reviewed the implementation of the PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme in the State during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday. The Secretary of the Local Self Government Department, Shri Ravi Jain, along with officers from all concerned departments, attended the meeting. Officials from the eight districts of the State where the e-bus service is operational participated in the meeting via VC. Shri Ravi Jain briefed the Chief Secretary on the implementation and progress of the scheme through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
CS directes completion of charging infrastructure work within prescribed timeline
Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas directed officials to ensure the timely construction and installation of the charging infrastructure required for the operation of e-buses so that the bus service can operate smoothly and passengers can receive the maximum benefit. He directed all concerned departments to work in coordination and ensure the effective and uninterrupted implementation of the scheme. He stated that all necessary works related to the operation of the e-bus service must be completed within the prescribed timeframe.
Rajasthan to receive 1,150 E-Buses
Under the PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme, Rajasthan will receive 1,150 e-buses in two phases, of which 229 e-buses have been received so far. Additionally, 65 charging stations have been established across eight districts of the State—Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Alwar. It is noteworthy that the e-buses being operated under the scheme are air-conditioned electric city buses equipped with modern facilities such as advanced charging infrastructure, digital ticketing, and an intelligent transport system.
