Delhi Police detains Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other prominent leaders

New Delhi, Oct 2026 : During a massive protest held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Delhi Police detained Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other prominent leaders of the party. Before his detention, while speaking to the media, Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the Central Government and stated that the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have created an atmosphere of dictatorship across the country is extremely serious. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in every corner of the country, and citizens are not even being allowed to step out of their own homes. The situation is such that the police are picking up and taking away even people who are walking normally on the roads. Dictatorship has reached such an extent because, until now, Prime Minister Modi has been winning elections only through vote theft, but this time he has been caught red-handed. Now the government wants to suppress this wrongdoing of its own and continue it. However, the people of the country will no longer tolerate this dictatorship, because the youth of the country have become fully aware and have stood up against this injustice.

Arvind Kejriwal further stated that there is tremendous anger among the youth of the country following the arrests of people including CJP leaders Abhijit Deepake, Ashutosh Ranka, Saurav Das, Dhruv Rathee and Ratna Singh. Therefore, I appeal with folded hands to all citizens and youth of the country that we must all come together to save the country and democracy. Wherever you are in the country, come out of your homes right now and march towards Delhi. Reach Delhi by scooter, bus, train or flight—whatever means of transport is available to you. When you are on your way to Delhi, wherever the police or the government stops you, sit down right there and turn that entire place into ‘Jantar Mantar’. Turn the entire country into Jantar Mantar. If we do not stop the Prime Minister from stealing votes today, this country and our democracy will not survive.
