Telangana BJP Minority Morcha president Jagmohan Singh says Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey reflects a focus on development, governance, inclusion and the vision of a Viksit Bharat
Hyderabad, Oct 2026 : As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 25 years as head of government, Telangana BJP Minority Morcha president Sardar Jagmohan Singh describes the milestone as a significant chapter in India’s political journey. Singh says Modi’s transition from Gujarat Chief Minister to Prime Minister has been marked by an emphasis on governance, development, technology, welfare delivery and India’s growing global profile.
In an interview, Singh reflects on Modi’s 25 years in public service, his assessment of the changes in India and what he believes the Prime Minister’s approach has meant for minority communities.
Q: How do you look at Modi Ji’s 25 years in public service?
Jagmohan Singh: Twenty-five years of continuous leadership in public life is a significant milestone. Modi Ji’s journey from Gujarat to the leadership of India represents a political career centred on governance, development and the idea of putting the nation first.
From taking charge of Gujarat in 2001 to leading the country, his politics has consistently emphasised development, infrastructure, welfare delivery, technology and a stronger role for India globally.
For me, these 25 years represent a journey from “Seva” to “Sankalp” — from serving people to building the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Q: What has been Modi Ji’s biggest contribution to the country?
Jagmohan Singh: I would identify development at scale and the transformation of governance as among his most significant contributions.
The expansion of digital public infrastructure, financial inclusion, infrastructure development, welfare delivery and entrepreneurship has changed the way government programmes reach citizens.
The larger political shift has also been towards a development-oriented narrative, where the focus is increasingly on delivery, technology, infrastructure and India’s aspirations as a global power.
The vision today is not simply about managing India’s challenges. It is about preparing India to compete and lead in the 21st century.
Q: How has Modi Ji’s leadership impacted minority communities?
Jagmohan Singh: I believe Modi Ji’s leadership has emphasised the principles of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, with a focus on dignity, development and equal opportunity.
For the Muslim community, particularly women, I believe the abolition of instant Triple Talaq through the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019, was an important legal reform aimed at protecting dignity and rights.
For the Sikh community, initiatives such as the completion of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, facilities associated with the Sri Hemkunt Sahib Yatra, celebrations associated with Sikh Gurus and Veer Bal Diwas, and measures concerning victims of the 1984 riots have been important.
For the Christian community, the Prime Minister has engaged with Christian leaders and highlighted their contributions to education, healthcare and social service. His participation in Christmas celebrations has also been presented as a message of harmony and service.
For the Jain community, initiatives such as the celebration of Navkar Mahamantra Divas and recognition of Jain principles such as Ahimsa, Anekantavada and Aparigraha reflect respect for the community’s philosophy and message of peace.
Overall, I believe the focus should remain on respecting every faith, protecting constitutional rights and ensuring that development reaches every section of society.
Q: What major change have you seen in India during these 25 years?
Jagmohan Singh: The changes in India over 25 years are so numerous that they cannot be captured in a few words. Under Modi Ji’s leadership, I have seen a stronger sense of national confidence and participation among citizens.
Initiatives such as Vocal for Local have encouraged people to support Indian products and strengthen domestic economic activity. There has also been greater recognition of the contribution of sanitation workers and safai karmis.
The Ram Janmabhoomi movement and construction of the Ram Mandir have also become significant symbols of cultural sentiment for many Indians.
Through Mann Ki Baat, Modi Ji has established a direct platform for communicating with citizens and highlighting the achievements and ideas of ordinary Indians from different parts of the country.
From Swachh Bharat and Digital India to women’s empowerment, infrastructure development and a stronger global identity for India, the transformation has been wide-ranging.
For me, the biggest change is that India today is more confident, more connected and more willing to believe that it can play a leading role globally.
Q: What is your message on Modi Ji completing 25 years in public service?
Jagmohan Singh: On the completion of 25 years in public service, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
His journey is a reminder that public life is ultimately about service, responsibility and commitment to the nation. As a BJP worker and as part of the Minority Morcha in Telangana, I believe our responsibility is to carry forward the vision of inclusive development and ensure that the benefits of progress reach every section of society.
His vision of a Viksit Bharat and an Atmanirbhar Bharat by 2047 inspires citizens to contribute towards building a stronger, self-reliant and prosperous India.
I wish Modi Ji continued strength, good health and success in his mission of building a Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
