State Government Committed to Farmers’ Development: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government is committed to the holistic development of farmers. He addressed the ‘Balram Krishi Mahotsav’ and district-level farmers’ fair organised at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee premises in Dewas through video conferencing. He extended Sharadiya Navratri greetings to the people of the state and its farmers.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Agriculture Department’s initiative to promote farmers’ welfare on the sacred land of Maa Chamunda and Maa Tulja Bhawani was highly commendable. He said that, with the blessings of the Goddess and the government’s firm decisions, the state had been freed from Naxalism. He said, appreciating Dewas farmers, that they were pioneering innovations in advanced agricultural technologies and natural farming, making the district a model for agricultural development across Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing the programme, Apex Bank Administrator Mahendra Singh Yadav said that, under the Seva Sankalp Campaign, Dewas had become the 45th district in the state to host the Balram Krishi Mahotsav, carrying forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s spirit of service. MLA Gayatri Raje Pawar expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, stating that the state government had provided unprecedented support to farmers and strengthened the functioning of the Dewas agricultural market.

Focus on Natural Farming, Horticulture and Agricultural Innovation

The farmers’ fair aimed to promote agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, natural and organic farming, and Shree Anna (millets) under the Millet Mission. In view of the upcoming Rabi season, agricultural scientists provided technical guidance on certified varieties of crops such as wheat, gram, lentils and mustard that can deliver higher yields with less water. An extensive exhibition of modern agricultural machinery, drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, and agricultural innovations was also organised at the market premises.

Progressive Farmers Share Their Experiences

Progressive farmers from Dewas district shared their innovative practices and experiences during the programme. Dharmendra Singh Rajput of Chhoti Churlay village in Dewas development block explained how integrating natural and modern farming practices could support model farming and increase farmers’ incomes. Pavitra Nagar of Kanoriya village discussed natural farming methods and their outcomes.

Narayan Singh Sendhav of Araniya Kala village in Sonkatch shared information on managing horticultural crops through shade-net structures and polyhouses. Laxminarayan of Polay Jagir highlighted marketing arrangements for agricultural produce through Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). Sangeeta Kushwah of Chaubardhira village in Tonk Khurd shared practical experiences of successfully implementing natural farming.

11 Progressive Farmers Honoured for Outstanding Work

Eleven progressive farmers were honoured for their contributions to agriculture, animal husbandry and innovation. The awardees include Dharmendra Singh Rajput of Dewas for modern farming; Daulat Yadav for advanced animal husbandry; Pavitra Nagar for natural farming; and Jagdish Nagar of Mendki Dhakad village for crop diversification.

Narayan Singh Sendhav of Sonkatch was honoured for horticultural cultivation using shade-net structures and polyhouses, while Laxminarayan received recognition for FPO-based marketing. Sangeeta Kushwah of Tonk Khurd, Chintabai Kumre of Khategaon and Bankesingh Karma of Bagli were honoured for their contributions to natural farming.

Jyoti Rao and Rambharose Bairagi of Kherkheda village in Kannod development block received certificates of appreciation for successfully implementing and promoting natural farming.

District Panchayat Chairperson Leela Bherulal Ataria, Mayor Geeta Durgesh Agrawal, Dr. Raisingh Sendhav, former Dewas Development Authority Chairperson Rajesh Yadav, other public representatives and a large number of farmers attended the programme.
