Tiger Shroff Escapes Unhurt as Gunmen Open Fire at His Car in Mumbai; Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility

Mumbai, October 2026 : Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff had a narrow escape on Sunday after three motorcycle-borne men allegedly opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. While the actor escaped unhurt, his driver sustained injuries in the incident. The severity of the driver’s injuries has not yet been disclosed.

The firing triggered a major security response, with Mumbai Police forming 15 special teams to investigate the attack and identify those responsible. Within hours of the incident, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly claimed responsibility for the firing in a social media post. The authenticity of the claim and the motive behind the attack remain to be established by investigators.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contacted the Mumbai Police Commissioner to seek details about the incident. He directed the police chief to launch an immediate investigation and take strict action against those involved.

The incident has also triggered concerns over the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Mumbai, with Congress leaders questioning the state government’s ability to ensure the safety of prominent personalities and ordinary citizens.

Sachin M. Sawant, National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, expressed shock over the attack in a post on social media. Referring to previous incidents, including the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique and the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence, Sawant questioned the security situation in the city.

He alleged that repeated incidents of violence and threats against actors and film producers reflected a serious breakdown of law and order, and criticised the Chief Minister over the situation.

Professor Varsha Eknath Gaikwad, MP and president of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee, also raised concerns, describing Mumbai’s law-and-order situation as being in disarray. She called on the authorities to take immediate measures to protect residents.

In her social media post, Gaikwad referred to the firing outside Salman Khan’s residence, Siddique’s murder and the latest attack involving Shroff. She questioned who should be held accountable for ensuring public safety when such incidents occur repeatedly in the country’s financial capital.

Gaikwad also pointed out that reports indicated another person had been injured in the firing targeting Shroff. She noted that the motive remained unclear and that police were searching for the suspects.

The attack has renewed scrutiny of security arrangements in Mumbai, particularly following a series of high-profile criminal incidents involving celebrities and political figures.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the firing, including the alleged gang’s claim of responsibility. Further details regarding the suspects, motive and the injured driver are awaited as the investigation progresses.
