Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that a decisive battle has been launched against narcotic drugs in Madhya Pradesh in line with the resolve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to build a drug-free India. The state government and police are continuously cracking down on networks involved in drugs, cybercrime, illegal arms and organised crime. He said the entire syndicate would be dismantled to make Madhya Pradesh drug-free.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that intensive efforts would be undertaken at every level to make Madhya Pradesh completely drug-free by 2029, in line with the call of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks during a high-level review meeting on law and order and internal security in Madhya Pradesh with senior officials of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday. He said local administration and police must discharge their responsibilities towards law and security while maintaining communal harmony and continuously encouraging society to contribute towards it. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Madhya Pradesh would play a leading role in achieving the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Union Home Ministry team’s visits to states to closely study their systems, provide guidance and support, and prepare them for future challenges are highly commendable and positive initiatives. Such coordination helps in taking informed and far-reaching decisions and enhances the efficiency of the administrative and police machinery to respond swiftly. He said Madhya Pradesh has the potential to emerge as a model state and the state government is fully committed to developing it in every respect with the continued guidance and coordination of the Union Home Ministry. The Chief Minister added that the Central Government is providing states with opportunities to adopt modern technologies and innovative solutions after successful trials, while also continuously monitoring their implementation.
Naxalism Brought Under Control
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Naxal problem, once considered impossible to resolve, has been brought under control within the targeted timeframe through the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the firm resolve of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. Strong action has been taken against Naxalism in the state, and the government is now implementing a comprehensive development plan for the affected areas. He said 2027 will be observed as the Year of Youth to instil confidence among young people. High-quality education is being provided through Sandipani Schools, while buildings have been sanctioned for schools without their own facilities. A sports complex will be established in every Assembly constituency, and a ₹400-crore plan has been prepared for the development of areas freed from Naxalism.
To strengthen confidence among tribal communities, the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is being implemented. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states in issuing forest rights titles. The Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva has been launched to provide citizens with convenient and faster transportation. Extensive preparations are underway for Simhastha 2028. To strengthen employees’ confidence, 68,000 employees have been promoted, while reservation has been provided for Agniveers in uniformed services.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said 16,895 posts have been filled during the past two years, and the recruitment process is now initiated immediately whenever vacancies arise. Recruitment against 9,662 posts is underway in 2026. The recruitment process for the Police Band, which had remained pending for several years, has been resumed and the band has been given a new identity. As many as 648 personnel have been recruited in the Police Band. Police bands now give special performances during national festivals in every district. The state government has also resumed the promotion process, which had remained pending for nearly a decade. More than 27,000 officers and employees across various cadres have been promoted. Over one lakh police personnel have been brought under the e-HRMS.
Union Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan briefed the meeting on the vision of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah. He emphasised the need for joint intelligence-sharing and coordinated action with neighbouring states, particularly in view of Madhya Pradesh’s borders with Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, to tackle the inter-state movement of criminals, arms smuggling and drug corridors. He emphasised the more effective use of NATGRID, implementation of a ‘Drug-Free Campus’ framework in all higher educational institutions, early establishment of NDPS Special Courts, and formation of an Anti-Narcotics Task Force in the state.
Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal briefed the Central team on measures being taken to strengthen law and order and build public confidence in the government among all sections of society. He said efforts were being made at every level to further improve law and order and that a Jan Vishwas Abhiyan is being implemented.
Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana said continuous innovations are being undertaken to strengthen law and order under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Decisions are also being taken in the interest and welfare of police officers and personnel.
The meeting was informed that the government is observing 2026 as the Year of Farmer Welfare to strengthen confidence among farmers. Direct benefits of schemes worth ₹1 lakh crore have been provided to farmers. To strengthen women’s confidence, financial assistance has been transferred to 1.25 crore women under the Ladli Behna Yojana. More than 18 lakh women have been enabled to become Lakhpati Didis through various government schemes. One Stop Centres have reached out to one lakh women.
The meeting was informed that strict and continuous action is being taken to strengthen law and order. The police department has busted 17 clandestine laboratories involved in manufacturing drugs. Action against habitual drug offenders under the PIT-NDPS Act has been intensified, while the State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (S4C) has been notified. The coverage of e-Sakshya has increased from 17 per cent last year to 33 per cent, while 57 mobile forensic vans are now available across all districts.
‘Nasha Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0’ Campaign Records 58 Crore Social Media Views
The meeting was informed that the ‘Nasha Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0’ campaign recorded 58 crore social media views this year, with direct participation of 2.47 crore citizens. Similarly, the Safe Click 2 campaign has helped prevent digital arrest frauds. An MoU has been signed with Heartfulness to address stress among police personnel. More than 1,000 trainers have been trained and 50,000 police personnel have participated in Heartfulness programmes.
The meeting was informed that Madhya Pradesh has made significant progress in implementing the three new criminal laws. The state’s rate of filing charge sheets within 90 days stood at 69 per cent, higher than the national average of 59 per cent. Madhya Pradesh is also leading the country in the direct delivery of e-summons. The meeting reviewed several important issues, including law and order, implementation of the three new criminal laws, control of narcotic drugs, cybercrime, counter-terrorism, matters concerning foreigners, action against fugitives, police modernisation, security coordination with neighbouring states, disaster management and management of enemy property.
