Jaipur, October 2. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that energetic, capable and value-driven youth are the real capital of the country. With the energy, imagination and talent of this ‘Amrit Peedhi’, the resolve of building a Viksit Rajasthan along with Viksit Bharat by 2047 is to be achieved collectively. The State Government is working to identify and nurture young talent. From education to sports and from skills to employment, efforts are being made to realise the dreams of youth.
The Chief Minister was addressing the ‘Sapno Ki Udaan, Yuva Sashakt Yuva Samvad’ programme organised at the Bhawani Niketan Educational Institution campus on Friday. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a resolve to make India drug-free by 2029. To translate this national resolve into action in Rajasthan, the ‘Nayi Kiran’ programme has been launched. He called upon youth to stay away from drugs, utilise their energy in nation and state building, and establish their identity in the country and across the world through their talent.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government had resolved to provide 4 lakh government jobs and 6 lakh employment opportunities in the private sector to the youth of the state. So far, more than 1.93 lakh youth have been appointed. Recruitment proceedings for 1.18 lakh posts are underway, while a recruitment calendar has been issued for around 1.25 lakh posts. The Chief Minister said that not a single paper leak has occurred under the present government in the last nearly three years and recruitment examinations are being conducted on time with complete transparency.
The Chief Minister said that Atal Gyan Kendras are being developed in Gram Panchayats so that rural youth do not have to migrate to cities to prepare for competitive examinations. Through these centres, youth will be able to study in their own villages using e-library and library facilities. He called upon youth to become not only job seekers but also job creators. He said that Rajasthan has vast potential for employment and entrepreneurship. Youth can establish their own enterprises in several sectors, including processing units, cold chains and warehouses.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is making efforts to ensure that no talented youth in Rajasthan is deprived of opportunities. In this direction, the Pratibha Yojana has been launched to identify and nurture sporting talent. Through this initiative, sporting talent hidden in schools and villages across the state will be identified. The government aims to assess the talent of more than 70 lakh students in the 8–14 years age group.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government has given new momentum to Rajasthan’s development. Work on the Ram Jal Setu Link Project is progressing. The project will provide drinking water facilities to a population of around 3 crore across 17 districts of the state. Similarly, the Yamuna Water Agreement has been signed, ending the three-decade-long wait of the Shekhawati region. Through this project, being implemented at a cost of around Rs 34,000 crore, Yamuna water will reach the Shekhawati region and benefit around 75 lakh people of the state. The foundation stone has also been laid for a natural reservoir to be constructed at a cost of Rs 800 crore under the project.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has registered progress ranging from three times to 28 times in various sectors. He said that Rajasthan ranks first, second or third in the country in 27 schemes. For the first time in the state, 10 lakh members have been added to the cooperative sector. He said that the State Government has worked towards improving departments that were previously considered loss-making. He said that the electricity, Roadways and Dairy sectors are now making profits.
The Chief Minister said that work on 10,000 kilometres of missing-link roads in rural areas has been completed, while 282 of the 327 sanctioned Atal Pragati Paths have also been completed. Similarly, more than Rs 14,400 crore under Kisan Samman Nidhi has been provided to more than 76 lakh farmers. He said that tap water has been provided to more than 15 lakh rural households in the state. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 3 lakh 82 thousand houses have been constructed, while construction of 4 lakh 53 thousand houses is underway.
Earlier, the Chief Minister witnessed the drug-free youth human chain formed by National Service Scheme volunteers and inspired the youth to work towards a drug-free society.
Foundation stone laying, inauguration and launch
During the programme, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma laid foundation stones and inaugurated 668 development works worth Rs 3,075 crore in Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, Baran, Bundi, Jhalawar and Kota districts. Along with the Smart Domicile Certificate Service, the Chief Minister also launched the ‘Nasha Mukt Rajasthan’ Quiz Competition, ‘Nayi Kiran: Nasha Mukti Kendra Portal’, Pratibha Portal, Khel Mitra Portal and Khelo Rajasthan Games Portal.
Interaction with youth and development initiatives
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma interacted with the youth during the programme. The youth shared their experiences and suggestions with the Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude for the youth welfare schemes. On the occasion, appointment letters were issued to 4,091 newly appointed officers and employees across the state. The Chief Minister administered a pledge for de-addiction to the participants of the programme.
On the occasion, he honoured Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Kushagra Singh Rajawat, who brought glory to the state by winning medals in international sporting competitions, by presenting them cheques of Rs 60 lakh and Rs 1 crore, respectively.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Avinash Gehlot, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs K. K. Vishnoi, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary Praveen Gupta, along with other public representatives and a large number of youth, were present on the occasion.
