Yadav says libraries and sports grounds play a crucial role in shaping the nation's future; announces plans to expand educational and sports facilities

Jaipur, October 2026: Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav and Rajasthan Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forests Sanjay Sharma on Sunday inaugurated a synthetic basketball court constructed at a cost of ₹17.20 lakh at Government Commerce College in Alwar district.

Addressing students at the event, Yadav said India was a nation of young people and that the youth must play a leading role in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047.

He emphasised that libraries and sports grounds were essential to building the nation's future. With this objective, e-libraries were being established across Alwar, while the Alwar MP Sports Festival was providing a platform for young sporting talent.

Yadav said the government was committed not only to laying the foundation stones for development projects but also to ensuring their timely completion while maintaining high standards of quality.

He noted that access to quality education strengthened students' mental well-being, while sports and physical activities supported their physical development.

Highlighting the importance of college life, he said it was not merely about acquiring an education but also about connecting with society and developing strong character.

Yadav added that facilities for wrestling and hockey, including an astro-turf hockey ground, as well as a synthetic athletics track, had been completed in Alwar. Further efforts would be made to expand sports infrastructure in the district.

130 e-libraries established across Alwar

Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma said that, under Yadav's leadership, continuous efforts were being made to realise the vision of a clean, healthy and green Alwar while ensuring the district's overall development.

He said 130 e-libraries had been established in rural and urban areas of the Alwar parliamentary constituency to improve access to quality education for boys and girls. Work on expanding these facilities was continuing.

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Alwar MP Sports Festival had also been launched to provide a platform for emerging sporting talent. The International Tiger Marathon had further enhanced Alwar's recognition on the global stage, Sharma said.

He added that, keeping girls' education in mind, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had announced a girls' school in the state Budget following Yadav's request. Construction was progressing rapidly, and the institution would be inaugurated soon.

New classrooms, library and indoor auditorium planned

With the objective of improving facilities for students, Yadav announced that additional rooms would be constructed at Government Commerce College according to requirements and that a library would also be developed.

Sharma said that, under Yadav's leadership, plans were being made to construct additional classrooms and an indoor auditorium at the college.

He also informed the gathering that a borewell had been installed on the college campus using funds from the MLA Local Area Development Scheme to improve water availability for students. An indoor badminton court would also be constructed at the earliest.

Mayor Sumanlata Agrawal, distinguished citizens, students and a large number of local residents attended the programme.
