Ajmer/Jaipur, October 2026: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani said the teachings of Maharaja Agrasen remain relevant even today and urged people to follow his ideals of mutual cooperation, harmony, entrepreneurship and philanthropy to contribute to society and nation-building.
Devnani participated in a programme organised on Sunday to mark the auspicious occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. He highlighted Maharaja Agrasen’s life and principles, describing them as a source of inspiration for social upliftment and harmony.
The Assembly Speaker said every member of society should strengthen the spirit of mutual assistance and goodwill by following the path shown by Maharaja Agrasen. He emphasised that his values continue to hold significance in contemporary society and called for helping people at the grassroots level, particularly those in need.
He said the principles of cooperation, enterprise, love and selfless service advocated by Maharaja Agrasen remain equally meaningful in the modern era. Drawing inspiration from his philosophy, people should remain committed to the welfare of society and extend assistance to underprivileged sections, he added.
Agarwal community’s contribution to nation-building
Devnani appreciated the Agarwal community’s rich business traditions, philanthropic outlook and contribution to nation-building.
He said traders and prominent members of the community had strengthened the country’s economic foundations while making significant contributions to education, healthcare and various social welfare initiatives.
He also urged young people to embrace modernity while remaining connected to India’s traditional cultural values and ethical principles. The youth, he said, should actively participate in the development of society and the nation.
During the programme, Devnani extended his heartfelt greetings to members of the Agarwal community on Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti and appreciated the community’s ongoing social service and philanthropic activities.
Prominent members of the community and a large number of local residents attended the event.
