NEW DELHI, Sept 2026 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has urged political parties to come together to defend the right to vote following media revelations concerning the Election Commission of India. AAP Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj said all parties should support the ‘Cockroach’ movement instead of fighting separately on different platforms. He said the issue concerns the right to vote of 140 crore Indians and called on political parties and alliances to join the movement, which has been launched by the country’s youth to fix the Election Commission.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, AAP Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “The country’s Election Commission is compromised, and this is a very serious issue for democracy across the country. This is not a fight involving any one party or alliance, nor is it merely a fight between the BJP and the Opposition. This is a fight for the rights of 140 crore Indians, and everyone will have to fight it together.”

Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted that the cockroaches, together with the country’s youth, have called for a peaceful protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 2. “Everyone should support this protest and fight alongside the youth, shoulder to shoulder. If political parties and alliances fight this battle separately, the movement will become divided and weaker,” he added.
Saurabh Bharadwaj further said that they have informed the police about the protest scheduled to be held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 2. “AAP’s student organisation ASAP (Association of Students for Alternative Politics) has contacted a large number of young people and that there is considerable enthusiasm among the youth for the peaceful protest,” he concluded.
