During his ongoing visit to Norway as part of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference tour, Mizoram Legislative Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama and his wife planted a tree at the site of the upcoming new Indian Embassy in Oslo on September 29, 2026.
The tree planted on the occasion is the first tree to be planted at the new Indian Embassy premises in Norway.
A suitable and spacious site in Oslo is currently being developed and prepared to accommodate the new Indian Embassy, which will replace the premises presently being used by the embassy.
The tree-planting ceremony was attended by Gloria Gangte, Ambassador of India to Norway, and her husband, along with Lalthangmawia, Additional Secretary, Mizoram Legislative Assembly, and officials and staff members of the Indian Embassy in Norway.
