Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said every section and community of society must benefit from development while enjoying security. Ensuring that development benefits reach the last person in society remains the government’s top priority. He said that after emerging from the shadow of Naxalism, Balaghat district is now scripting a new chapter of development, education, employment and self-reliance.
On the directions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, efforts are underway to bring 100 villages of Balaghat district into the mainstream of development. Under Mission Aadi Seva, proposals have been prepared for over 800 development works worth ₹330 crore to ensure the comprehensive development of these villages. The initiative focuses on strengthening basic infrastructure and expanding access to education, healthcare and nutrition, while creating new livelihood and employment opportunities in these areas.
A comprehensive action plan has been prepared under the leadership of Balaghat Collector Shri Aditya Singh. As part of this initiative, officials have so far visited around 70 villages and held direct interactions with residents. Plans are underway to establish a digital library and a community meeting platform in every village, providing children and youth with better facilities for digital education and community activities.
Tourism circuits and homestays will be developed to link the region’s natural resources and tribal culture with livelihood opportunities. A Baiga Haat has also been established in Lagma village of Baihar development block, providing a marketplace for handicrafts and local products made by the Baiga, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG).
An e-market platform will connect bamboo crafts, honey, organic products, forest produce and goods made by self-help groups with wider markets. A Baiga Arogya Evam Poshan Express is also planned to extend healthcare services to remote villages with significant Baiga populations.
A dedicated portal is being developed to connect youth with government schemes, while an online dashboard will be set up to monitor development works. These initiatives are expected to create new opportunities for development, self-reliance and economic prosperity in villages that have emerged from the influence of Naxalism.
