Jodhpur, Sept 2026 : Chief Secretary V. Srinivas inspected Umaid Hospital during his visit to Jodhpur on Saturday and reviewed arrangements across various medical units, including the gynaecology outpatient department, labour room, operation theatre, gynaecology ICU, high-dependency unit (HDU) and post-operative wards 1 and 3.
The Chief Secretary conducted a detailed inspection of the facilities and sought information from officials regarding the functioning of different departments. He also issued necessary directions to the concerned authorities to ensure effective delivery of healthcare services.
Inspects Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Nursery
Srinivas inspected the out-born and in-born nurseries at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). He reviewed arrangements for the treatment and care of newborn babies and took information about the resources and medical facilities available at the unit.
He directed officials to ensure that treatment and care facilities remain smooth and effective and called for continuous monitoring of the arrangements to maintain the quality of services provided to newborns.
Calls for Regular Review of Medical Services and Resources
During the inspection, the Chief Secretary reviewed the availability of medical equipment, resources and other facilities across various units. He directed officials to ensure that patients receive quality healthcare services in a smooth and efficient manner.
He also instructed the authorities to strengthen facilities wherever necessary and ensure regular reviews of the functioning and requirements of the various medical units.
Divisional Commissioner Kanhaiya Lal Swami, District Collector Alok Ranjan, along with concerned medical officers and doctors, were present during the inspection.
