Tehran’s actions raise fresh concerns over global oil supplies as US President Donald Trump predicts a swift end to the conflict and a sharp decline in crude prices.

Tehran, Oct 2026 : Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has targeted at least seven oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz over the past five days, describing them as vessels violating restrictions, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

According to Fars, the IRGC Navy has targeted more than one oil tanker a day, despite repeated claims by US President Donald Trump that the strategic waterway remains open and under American control.

Citing independent military observer MenchOsint, Fars reported that two oil tankers exploded in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. One incident occurred near the entrance to the waterway, while the other took place as a vessel was exiting the strait.

MenchOsint also reported that two Kuwaiti tankers, Al Funtas and Kazimah III, along with three United Arab Emirates vessels — Sinbad, Mersin Prosperity and Al Ruwais — had been struck in the strait during the preceding four days, according to Xinhua news agency.

The reported incidents have intensified concerns over maritime security in one of the world’s most strategically important energy corridors. The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial route for international oil shipments, and disruptions to shipping through the waterway can affect global energy markets and supply chains.

Meanwhile, Trump said on Saturday that the conflict with Iran would end “very quickly” and predicted a sharp fall in oil prices once hostilities ceased.

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Texas and later during a visit to a Peterbilt Motors facility in Denton, Trump portrayed Iran as severely weakened militarily and economically, saying Tehran faced a choice over how the conflict would conclude.

“Iran will very soon be ending one way or the other,” Trump told reporters. He claimed that Iran was facing inflation of 301 per cent, a collapsing currency and the destruction of its military capabilities.

Trump added that the conflict would end soon and that oil prices would “drop like a rock” once it was over.

Iran tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz on February 28, restricting safe passage for vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States following joint strikes by the two countries on Iranian territory.

The latest reported tanker incidents underscore the continuing risks to commercial shipping and energy transportation as tensions between Iran and the United States remain high. Any prolonged disruption in the strait could have wider implications for oil prices, maritime trade and regional security.
