Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Demands Compensation for US-Israeli Attacks Amid Renewed Strike Threats

Tehran, Oct 2026 : Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has called for serious efforts to secure the Iranian people’s rights and obtain compensation for material and non-material damages caused by US-Israeli attacks on the country, as tensions in the region continue to escalate.

The demand was raised during a meeting between Khamenei and Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, according to a statement published on the Supreme Leader’s official website on Saturday.

The meeting focused on judicial reforms, the protection of public rights, anti-corruption measures and the need to pursue compensation for the damage Iran says it suffered during the military offensive launched by the United States and Israel.

Khamenei Calls for Judicial Reforms and Accountability

During the meeting, Khamenei highlighted the importance of promoting justice, safeguarding public rights and addressing corruption, including its underlying causes.

He also stressed the need to resolve judicial cases promptly, accurately and decisively, while ensuring that court rulings are enforced in a timely manner to deter criminal activity.

The Supreme Leader called for a “comprehensive and tangible” transformation of Iran’s judicial system, according to the statement.

The discussions also emphasised the need to formulate effective plans to combat crime and strengthen the functioning of judicial institutions.

A key focus was the pursuit of what Iranian authorities describe as the rights of the Iranian people, including compensation for both material losses and non-material harm resulting from the US-Israeli military campaign.

Tehran has repeatedly criticised the attacks and sought accountability for the damage caused. However, the statement did not specify the amount of compensation being sought or identify a formal mechanism through which the claims would be pursued.

US-Israel Attacks and Iran’s Retaliation

The latest developments follow the joint military strikes launched by Israel and the United States against Tehran and other Iranian cities on February 28.

Iran responded with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US military bases and assets across the region. Tehran also tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important waterway for global energy shipments.

The conflict has heightened concerns about regional security, energy supplies and the possibility of further military escalation.

The Strait of Hormuz remains particularly significant because disruptions to shipping through the narrow passage can affect international oil markets and energy trade.

Trump Raises Prospect of Further Military Action

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump on Friday raised the possibility of renewed military action against Iran, making remarks suggesting that Washington could seize the country’s oil resources or even take control of the entire country.

“Iran is not able to do much now. And we could, if we wanted to, just take all of the oil,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a rally in Florida. “We could take the whole country.”

Asked about US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz’s assessment that the conflict could continue for another year, Trump said the United States could bring it to an end quickly.

He questioned whether Washington should seek to finish the conflict decisively or allow Iran’s capabilities to weaken over time.

Later, addressing supporters at the Florida rally, Trump suggested that another military operation could be launched.

“We may do another little Epic Fury,” he said, referring to the large-scale US military operation against Iran that began on February 28 alongside Israel’s coordinated offensive.

Uncertainty Over Renewed Strikes

Trump’s remarks came amid reports that US and Israeli military planners had drawn up options for renewed strikes against Iran following the US midterm elections.

However, it remains uncertain whether the US President will authorise another military operation. The possibility of further attacks has added to concerns about the future course of the conflict and its wider implications for the Middle East.

As Washington signals that military options remain available, Tehran is emphasising judicial accountability and compensation for the damage caused by the attacks.

The opposing positions underline the continuing tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel, with the prospect of renewed hostilities posing risks to regional stability and global energy security.
