Raipur, September 2026 : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday listened to the 138th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Lamkanhar village of Antagarh block in Kanker district.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness after Prime Minister Modi highlighted Chhattisgarh’s ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign during the programme, describing the recognition as a matter of pride for the entire state.
Sai said Prime Minister Modi provides a national platform through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ to positive changes and innovations driven by public participation across different parts of the country. He said the repeated mention of initiatives from Chhattisgarh by the Prime Minister was recognition of the hard work and participation of the people of the state.
According to the Chief Minister, such recognition not only gives greater visibility to local initiatives but also encourages people to undertake more effective work.
Sai said the ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign was an important initiative aimed at strengthening Chhattisgarh’s fight against malnutrition through public participation. Moringa is easily available and is an important source of nutrition. Its leaves, fruits and flowers are used as food and contain several nutrients, including iron.
He urged villagers and students present at the programme to plant moringa saplings in their homes and spread awareness among others about its nutritional benefits.
PM Modi highlights nutrition, cleanliness, environment and ‘Vocal for Local’
During the 138th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Modi spoke to citizens on several issues, including India’s firm policy against terrorism, public participation in the Census, preservation of cultural heritage, cleanliness, environmental protection, de-addiction, promotion of sporting talent and the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
The Prime Minister highlighted September as Nutrition Month, dedicated to the fight against malnutrition, and referred to various initiatives being undertaken across the country to improve nutrition.
In this context, he mentioned the ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign being implemented by the Women and Child Development Department in Chhattisgarh. Through the campaign, people are being encouraged to include nutritious moringa in their daily diet and plant moringa saplings.
Chhattisgarh innovations repeatedly featured in ‘Mann Ki Baat’
Sai said it was a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh that Prime Minister Modi had repeatedly highlighted people-centric initiatives and innovations from the state in ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Earlier, the Prime Minister had praised initiatives such as Bastar Pandum, Bastar Olympics, the historic copper plate discovered in Malhar and the ‘5 per cent water conservation model’ of Koriya district.
The Chief Minister said Koriya’s ‘5 per cent water conservation model’ was an effective solution developed according to local needs and through public participation. Under the model, farmers arrange water conservation facilities on five per cent of their farmland. This ensures water availability for irrigation when required and also helps replenish groundwater.
Such innovations demonstrate that even small, community-driven efforts at the local level can become the foundation for wider change, Sai said. He added that by highlighting such initiatives in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister encourages those associated with them while inspiring people in other parts of the country to work towards positive change in their villages, towns and communities.
Region moving towards development after years of Naxal influence
Sai said the Kanker region, like Bastar, had remained affected by Naxalism for a long period.
He said Chhattisgarh was moving rapidly towards becoming free from Naxalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the determination of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the courage of security personnel and the cooperation of local people.
The Chief Minister said areas that had once witnessed an atmosphere of fear and insecurity were now showing a new picture of peace, trust and development. As the environment of peace and security strengthens, new opportunities for development are emerging in remote areas as well.
Sai said the Bastar region had remained relatively distant from the mainstream of development for decades, but the state government was now committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last village and the last person.
Expansion of education, healthcare, roads, drinking water, communication, employment and other basic facilities was being undertaken rapidly, he said. The Chief Minister added that Chhattisgarh was receiving continuous support from Prime Minister Modi and the Central government, while the state government was working with full commitment to accelerate peace, prosperity and development in the region.
Rs 85 lakh development package announced for Lamkanhar
On the occasion, Sai announced various development works worth a total of Rs 85 lakh for expanding education, infrastructure and community facilities in Lamkanhar village.
The Chief Minister announced Rs 15 lakh for construction of a community hall near the Sheetla Temple, Rs 37 lakh for construction of primary and middle school buildings, Rs 18 lakh for construction of a CC road in Chhote Para and Rs 15 lakh for a library and laboratory at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Lamkanhar.
Sai said the state government was continuously working to strengthen education and basic infrastructure in remote and tribal areas. Providing children with a better educational environment and modern facilities remained a priority, he said, adding that the projects announced for Lamkanhar would improve facilities for both villagers and students.
Guava sapling planted under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’
After the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Sai planted a guava sapling on the premises of the Eklavya Model Residential School under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
He urged people to plant more trees for environmental protection and ensure their regular care and preservation.
The Chief Minister said environmental protection was a shared responsibility of the government and every member of society. Every sapling planted today, he said, would help strengthen the foundation of a clean and safe environment for future generations.
School students and villagers also listened to Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on the occasion.
Member of Parliament Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Vikram Usendi, public representatives, officials, employees, school students and a large number of villagers were present at the programme.
