Clear Pending Payments for Paddy and Coarse Grains Procured Under MSP: Minister Chhagan Bhujbal

Mumbai, September 2026: Maharashtra Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has directed the concerned agencies to make immediate payment of pending dues for paddy and coarse grains procured under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme, ensuring that eligible farmers receive their payments without delay.

During the 2025-26 marketing season, the state procured paddy as well as coarse grains including jowar, maize, bajra and ragi under the MSP scheme.

According to the available data, 1,03,80,196.70 quintals of paddy, 55,183.70 quintals of jowar, 10,05,111 quintals of maize, 510.50 quintals of bajra and 4,624 quintals of ragi were procured during the season.

The procurement during the rabi marketing season included paddy, jowar and maize. As per the available records, a total of 1,08,21,404.60 quintals of these crops were procured.

The department has also compiled division-wise details of the payments already made to farmers as well as the amounts that are still pending.

Bhujbal directed the concerned agencies to complete the processing of pending payments at the earliest and ensure that the eligible farmers receive the MSP amount directly in their bank accounts.

He stressed that farmers should not face unnecessary delays in receiving the assured price for their agricultural produce. All agencies involved in the MSP procurement process have been instructed to immediately review the availability of funds, pending payments and the administrative procedures required to clear the outstanding dues.

The minister further directed officials to accord priority to farmers' payments and complete all necessary formalities without delay.

“Ensuring that farmers receive the assured price for their produce on time is the government's primary responsibility. No unnecessary delay in pending payments will be tolerated,” Bhujbal said while directing the concerned agencies to expedite the process.

The minister's directions are aimed at ensuring timely settlement of MSP payments and strengthening the payment mechanism for farmers whose paddy and coarse grains have been procured under the government's support-price programme.
