Raipur, September 2026: The continuous efforts of the Health Department to ensure timely healthcare services reach needy patients in remote and tribal-dominated areas of Balrampur district have yielded a positive outcome.
Smt. Basanti, a high-risk pregnant Pahadi Korwa woman from Rajpur development block, had returned to her village from the District Hospital in Ambikapur without receiving treatment due to certain circumstances. As soon as the Health Department was informed about the situation, its field teams immediately swung into action and made the necessary arrangements to provide her with prompt medical care.
Through the coordinated and timely efforts of the Health Department’s field staff, Mitanin, the 102 ambulance team and hospital doctors, Smt. Basanti successfully gave birth to three healthy babies. At present, both the mother and all three newborns are in good health and are being kept under medical observation.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Vijay Kumar Singh said that in cases involving high-risk pregnancies, timely identification, regular monitoring and immediate referral are extremely important. He said ensuring safe motherhood services for every pregnant woman in remote and tribal areas remains the department’s highest priority.
Dr Singh also appreciated the excellent coordination among the vigilant healthcare personnel, the prompt ambulance service and the field-level workers, which helped ensure timely medical intervention and a safe delivery.
