Raipur, Sept 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the ‘Service Sankalp Yatra and Youth Dialogue’ programme held at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium in Raipur.
Sai warmly welcomed bikers who travelled from Vadnagar in Gujarat to Raipur as part of the Service Sankalp campaign, along with bikers who arrived from various districts of the Bastar division.
Addressing the programme, Sai said a strong, self-reliant and developed new India was being built under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said Modi considers the country’s 140 crore citizens his family and is continuously working towards nation-building with a spirit of service. Under his leadership, India has established a new identity globally and the country is moving rapidly towards fulfilling the goal of a developed India by 2047, Sai said.
The Chief Minister said the Service Sankalp Yatra was an important platform for connecting the country’s youth with service, social responsibility and nation-building.
The journey, which began in Vadnagar, the birthplace of Prime Minister Modi, is carrying the message of service towards Varanasi, his political constituency and place of work. During the journey, young participants are spreading awareness about issues including cleanliness, a drug-free society, a TB-free India and environmental conservation.
The campaign, he said, is strengthening a sense of responsibility towards the nation and the spirit of service among young people.
Sai said that more than 1.5 crore lamps were lit across Chhattisgarh under the Service Sankalp campaign on Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. The enthusiasm and participation of people across the state reflected their affection and trust towards the Prime Minister, he said.
CM Recalls Association with PM Modi
Sai said Prime Minister Modi has a deep and close association with Chhattisgarh and has spent considerable time in the state, gaining an understanding of its people and their lives.
He recalled that in 2014, when he served as a Union Minister of State, he had the opportunity to work with Modi. During that period, he said, he closely observed the Prime Minister’s working style, discipline, vision and commitment to public service.
Sai said Modi has set the goal of building a developed India by 2047. In line with this objective, Chhattisgarh is also moving towards becoming a developed state through planned efforts.
The state government has prepared a Vision Document for a Developed Chhattisgarh and formulated an action plan based on future requirements and opportunities. The government’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of development reach every region and every citizen of the state, he said.
Changing Bastar, New Dreams Among Children
Referring to the transformation in Bastar, Sai said areas once affected by violence and fear were now witnessing a stronger environment of peace, confidence and development.
Roads, education, healthcare and other basic facilities have expanded to remote areas, he said. In a changing Bastar, the younger generation is now dreaming bigger about its future.
During the youth dialogue, students from Bastar who are studying in schools in Raipur — Govind Kumar, Drishti Dhruv, Deepak Markam and Dina Uikey — shared their experiences.
The students expressed happiness over the changes taking place in Bastar and thanked Prime Minister Modi. They said basic facilities such as schools, hospitals and roads were expanding even in remote parts of Bastar.
They also said that the end of the atmosphere of fear had created a new sense of confidence among children and young people regarding their future.
According to the students, the new generation of Bastar is now aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces and civil services, while also pursuing careers as doctors, engineers and professionals in other fields to serve the country and the state.
Appreciating their views, Sai said the dreams visible in the eyes of Bastar’s children represented one of the most encouraging signs of a changing Chhattisgarh.
He said the government was working to ensure that every child in the state receives quality education and equal opportunities to progress.
1,200 Youth Covering 2,000 Km
Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla, while proposing the vote of thanks, provided details of the Service Sankalp Yatra.
He said around 1,200 young people are travelling nearly 2,000 km as part of the initiative. During the journey, the participants are spreading awareness on various social issues, including cleanliness, a TB-free India, drug de-addiction and environmental conservation.
Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MPs Brijmohan Agrawal, Lakshmi Verma and V.D. Sharma, MLAs Motilal Sahu, Purandar Mishra, Kiran Singh Deo and Anuj Sharma, chairpersons of various corporations, boards and commissions, Rahul Tikriha, Naveen Markandey and other public representatives, dignitaries, Service Sankalp Yatra bikers and a large number of school students were present at the programme.
